Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant Ships Test Batches of New Wire and Strand

Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant (part of Mechel Group) produced test batches of new wire and strand types for domestic machine builders. Some batches are already on their way to the plant’s customers.

In 2022, Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant mastered production of wire out of constructional alloyed steel in 3.5-mm bars. This wire is used to produce spare parts — shafts, solid-forged rotors, disks, screw-bolts, pins and other key parts exploited in high temperatures.

The plant also produced alloyed spring wire of new diameters — 1.6 and 2.8 millimeters — with special surface finishing. It is used for products with high wear resistance, such as self-locking collets, edge lines, springs, ball bearing torsos, clutch disks and gear wheels.

Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant also produced new sizes of cold-worked strand used for making spare machine parts. The plant also made various new sizes of steel wire, used for splicing in automobile and truck production.
