Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant Ups Sales of Universal Rolling Mill’s Output

In this year’s first quarter, Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (part of Mechel Group) has shipped off 132,000 tonnes of products manufactured by its universal rolling mill. This is 10% more than in the previous quarter.

Structural beam sales demonstrated a 10-percent growth. Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant’s structural beams were used in major construction projects in Russia and abroad, including a new polymer plant in Irkutsk Region.

The plant’s sections, such as I- and H-beams, channels and various profiles used in construction and wagon building as well as mining, also showed a steep increase in shipments. The first quarter’s results are up by half quarter-on-quarter.

“We continue to implement our strategy of increasing sales of our universal rolling mill’s high-margin products. Since the beginning of this year, we have expanded our product range and are moving into new markets,” Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant’s Sales Director Vadim Shalygin noted.

Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant’s universal rolling mill is a modern complex producing high-quality sections and rails. The mill produces various types of rails, I- and H-beams, channels and other profiles used in construction and engineering. The plant uses state-of-the-art technologies for rolling, leveling, finishing and quality control of its rolls.
