Southern Kuzbass Coal Company Restores Fish Resources
Southern Kuzbass Coal Company (part of Mechel Group) released over 1,500 common carp juveniles into the Ob River.
The release was part of the company’s program on artificial restoration of water resources. The event was organized in tandem with the research institute Tomsk-Ecologiya.
The juveniles were released in the Altay Region on the outskirts of Barnaul under the watchful eye of a commission including experts from various agencies. Russia’s Federal Fishery Agency determined the release site. Common carp is a fish popular with fishers.
